Fireboy & Watergirl 7: and Friends

Fireboy & Watergirl 7: and Friends

There is a special kind of magic in sharing a keyboard with a friend to solve a tricky puzzle. Whether you are collaborating in a North American dorm room, spending a rainy afternoon gaming in a European flat, or relaxing on a sunny Oceanian weekend, the Fireboy & Watergirl series has always been a staple of couch co-op. Now, the iconic duo is back for their seventh and most ambitious temple adventure yet, and this time, they brought some backup.

Fireboy & Watergirl 7: and Friends takes the brilliant, elemental platforming the series is famous for and introduces three brand new companion characters. You will need to coordinate up to five different characters across 36 hand crafted levels packed with pressure plates, deadly traps, and clever physics puzzles.

Meet the New Crew

The biggest twist in this installment is the addition of three companion characters. These friends are not just tagging along for the ride; they are absolutely essential to beating the game.

Their size and weight directly impact the environment. For example, the rotund blue friend is heavy enough to completely tip a seesaw that neither Fireboy nor Watergirl could budge on their own. The core strategic challenge is figuring out exactly when to move each character and discovering which specific combination of heroes is required to hold down buttons, balance platforms, and clear the path forward.

Classic Hazards and New Challenges

Veterans of the series will feel right at home with the environmental dangers. The golden rule remains unchanged: Fireboy cannot touch water, and Watergirl cannot touch fire. Green ooze is instantly fatal to everyone.

You will need to navigate these elemental hazards while solving complex mechanical puzzles. Levers must be flipped, and gates must be held open, often requiring multiple characters to work in perfect sync. While merely surviving is a challenge, perfectionists can aim for the top rating by collecting every color coordinated diamond scattered across the stage and beating the strict level timer.

Play Solo or Share the Keyboard

This game shines in local two player mode. Taking one half of the keyboard while a friend takes the other requires constant communication and flawless teamwork, especially when juggling the new companion characters. However, if you prefer a solo mental workout, you can tackle the entire campaign by yourself, carefully switching between all the characters to mastermind the perfect run. Just remember: both Fireboy and Watergirl must reach their respective red and blue exit doors to complete the stage.

Developed by Septimaniac, this HTML5 masterpiece runs flawlessly on desktop, iOS, and Android browsers without any downloads. Grab a friend, plan your moves carefully, and conquer the temple today right here on pok6!
